Trump Blasts Obama for Following His Advice on Syria

IN RETROSPECT

The president now says his predecessor should have attacked Assad after earlier calling him “foolish” for even thinking of such a thing.

President Trump on Sunday faulted his predecessor for not doing enough to stop Syrian President Bashar Assad even though Trump himself had cautioned the Obama administration against attacking Syria. “If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster would have ended long ago! Animal Assad would have been history!” Trump wrote. The president apparently forgot about his own public appeals to Obama amid plans for a U.S. strike on Syria in 2013. At that time, when Obama called for military action in the wake of a chemical weapons attack, Trump urged “foolish leader” Obama not to attack Syria or “many very bad things will happen.”
