Trump Campaign Employee Sues to Void Nondisclosure Agreement

Jessica Denson, a former employee of President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, has sued to void a nondisclosure agreement she signed that silenced her from speaking out about “discrimination claims,” according to Bloomberg. Denson “oversaw phone banks and Hispanic outreach for the campaign” and claims she was “harassed” by a supervisor who said she was “responsible for a leak of Trump’s tax returns[.]” NBC News reports that the supervisor subjected Denson to “pervasive slander, aggravated harassment, attempted theft, cyber-bullying and sexual discrimination and harassment.” She filed a discrimination claim in New York state court, and the campaign then filed an “arbitration claim asserting $1.5 million in damages.” The NDA Denson signed reportedly bars “disparagement and disclosure of confidential information” about Trump, his company, and family members—which Denson argues is “too broad” and does not apply to her claim. Denson is seeking $25 million in damages, according to NBC. Meanwhile, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal are also suing to be released from their NDAs involving their alleged affairs with the president.
