President-elect Donald Trump’s “Ice Maiden’s” nepo baby is trying to cash in on her mom’s high-flying job in the main man’s shadow.
Susie Wiles, the 67-year-old under-the-radar campaign manager, came in to steady the ship during Trump’s beeline to the White House last year. And it appears her daughter, Caroline Wiles, also has a nose for an opportunity.
Lobbying firm Rubin Turnbull & Associates has announced it will be opening an office in Washington D.C. with Wiles Jr. as its vice president of federal affairs.
The firm, led by Bill Rubin—who served as a political advisor for the last two successful campaigns for Florida Governor— and Heather Turnbull, who has been there since 2003, said Wiles signing on the dotted line would be a “successful venture.”
Rubin said in a statement: “This D.C. office marks an exciting expansion of our firm, which we have held to the highest standards of client service since its founding in 1992. Today, we launch a new chapter, and with the leadership of Caroline Wiles, I am confident that this will be one of our most successful ventures to date.”
“Caroline’s experience on several presidential campaigns—and most recently in Florida—allows us to give our clients the absolute best advice and guidance for their most decisive moments. This is a great fit for our firm, and I am excited to work with Caroline every day.”
During the first Trump presidency, Caroline was hired by the White House as a deputy assistant to the president and director of scheduling. This came despite her “incomplete degree,” leading the Washington Post to say she had an “unusual background.” In 2018, the paper cited reports that she was one of six staffers “dismissed for failing FBI backgrounds checks.”
The then 30-year-old was moved to the Presidential Personnel Office (PPO), which was “responsible for aiding the President in recruiting, vetting, and nominating over 4,000 political appointees throughout the federal government,” according to the White House.
Before that, Wiles worked at her mother’s lobbying firm, and as a campaign aide for candidates Susie Wiles advised. This included Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) and Trump.
Wiles herself said she and Rubin first met during Rick Scott’s initial run for governor of Florida. “I’ve known Bill for over 15 years...” she said in a statement after news of her Rubin Turnbull & Associates appointment. “He is an incredibly hard worker. It’s a privilege to collaborate with him and Heather Turnbull—an exceptional leader—as we establish our new office in Washington, D.C.”
WaPo also reported that police records show two incidences of the younger Wiles being pulled over for drunk driving by police, in 2005 and 2007. A driving under the influence charge was dropped in a plea agreement.
Even still, Trump Senior Advisor and Co-Campaign Manager Chris LaCivita said his colleague’s daughter will be a “massive asset.” He said: “Rubin, Turnbull & Associates landed a major addition today in Caroline Wiles as VP of Federal Affairs. Her work ethic and commitment will be a massive asset in navigating the complex world that is Washington D.C.”
Another of Susie Wiles’ daughters, Katie, was recently promoted at a different D.C. lobbying firm, The New York Times reporter Kenneth Vogel wrote on X.
Caroline Wiles’ firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
