President Donald Trump on Sunday morning declared that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that he terminated last year is “probably dead” because he claims Democrats aren’t negotiating in good faith. “DACA is probably dead because the Democrats don’t really want it, they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military,” Trump tweeted. The program, which shields some undocumented immigrants from deportation, is part of negotiations on a broader immigration package that includes increased border security measures. A bipartisan working group in the Senate said it came to an agreement last week, but the White House was not immediately on board with it.
