Trump Dodges Media, Citing Nonexistent ‘Bad Weather’

REALLY?

It’s 77 degrees in D.C. with a clear blue sky.

White House aides announced Thursday that President Donald Trump would forgo a helicopter ride to Air Force One—which allows reporters to shout questions at him as he crosses the White House’s South Lawn—in lieu of a more private motorcade ride, citing “bad weather.” But as a series of White House reporters have been quick to point out on Twitter—it’s a beautiful, blue-skied day in Washington, D.C. The Hill reports that the White House cited “fog” as the reason for Trump’s change in travel plans, although his helicopter landing site at Joint Base Andrews was “open for operation.” This apparent attempt to dodge the press comes only a day after the administration enraged reporters by denying CNN’s Kaitlan Collins access to Wednesday’s Rose Garden press conference, after she shouted questions about former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen hours prior.
