Trump DOJ Pick Once Represented Major Russian Bank

President Trump’s pick to lead the U.S. Department of Justice’s criminal division recently disclosed that he represented Russia’s Alfa Bank, The New York Times reported Monday. In a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will hold a confirmation hearing for him on Tuesday, Brian Benczkowski disclosed that he represented the Putin-tied bank while working for a U.S. law firm. Benczkowski previously worked in the Justice Department during the Bush era.
