President Trump on Tuesday endorsed Sen. Luther Strange in the Alabama Republican Senate primary for the seat formerly held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. “Senator Luther Strange has done a great job representing the people of the Great State of Alabama. He has my complete and total endorsement!” Trump wrote on Twitter. The special election, taking place next Tuesday, will pit Strange against several Republican candidates, including federal judge Roy Moore and Rep. Mo Brooks. Strange was appointed by former Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley after Sessions was picked to be attorney general. A runoff will take place in September, as no candidate is expected to win more than 50 percent of the vote.
