After the House and Senate passed the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill Thursday evening, President Trump said Friday morning that he is considering vetoing the bill due to concerns over the fate of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals beneficiaries and his proposed border-wall funding. “I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill), and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded,” Trump tweeted. The president previously agreed to pass the bill after reportedly telling House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he wanted more funding for the border wall with Mexico, Politico reported. Another government shutdown hangs in the balance if the president does not sign the bill into law by midnight Friday.
