President Trump, when asked Thursday if he would testify before Special Counsel Robert Mueller in the Russia probe, responded, “Yes. I would like to.” This remark came shortly after John Dowd, Trump’s lead attorney in the investigation into whether the president’s associates colluded with Russians in the 2016 election, resigned Thursday morning. According to The New York Times, Dowd “concluded that Mr. Trump was increasingly ignoring his advice” and thought Trump testifying in front of Mueller would be “a bad idea.”
