President Donald Trump claimed migrants are threatening to “infest” America, doubling down in a Tuesday morning tweetstorm defending his administration’s zero-tolerance immigration border policy. “Democrats are the problem. They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13,” he wrote. “They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!” Trump and his administration have repeatedly called some deported immigrants “animals.” Some Twitter users pointed out that his use of the word “infest” echoes language used in Nazi propaganda, which compared Jewish people to vermin.
