Donald Trump has finally broken his silence on the attempted murder of a Russian former spy on British soil, saying it “sounds to me” like Russia carried out the attack against Sergei Skripal. Trump has been silent on the attempted murder using a deadly nerve agent in England last week, but speaking shortly after he fired Rex Tillerson as secretary of State—who himself pointed the finger at Russia the night before his firing—Trump said he will condemn Russia once he learns the facts from the British prime minister, who he'll speak to today. “It sounds to me—I’m speaking to [British Prime Minister] Theresa May today—it sounds to me like it would be Russia, based on all of the evidence they have,” said Trump, when asked who he thought was responsible for the attack. The president went on: “It sounds to me like [the British] believe it would be Russia and I would certainly take that finding as fact. As soon as we get the facts straight, if we agree with them, we will condemn Russia or whoever it may be.”
