When asked questions about the allegations against Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump told reporters Tuesday that he thought that it was a “scary time” for men in the U.S. “It’s a very scary time for young men in America, where you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of,” Trump said. “What’s happening here has much more to do than even the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice... You can be somebody who was perfect your entire life, and someone could accuse you of something.” The president added, “Now, you’re guilty until proven innocent.” Trump also said he thought Kavanaugh was being “very brutally treated” over the sexual-misconduct allegations made against him. The president's son, Donald Trump Jr., expressed similar sentiments Monday when he said he was afraid for his sons more than his daughters.
