President Trump took to Twitter early Sunday to vent about his legal woes in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. The president urged supporters not to “believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on” after his lead lawyer dropped the case. “Many lawyers and top lawyers want to represent me in the Russia case,” Trump wrote, “but a new lawyer … will take months to get up to speed (if for no other reason than they can bill more), which is unfair to our great country.” Also, “there was no collusion with Russia,” he wrote. The president’s comments come just days after John Dowd left his legal team reportedly because Trump was “increasingly ignoring his advice.” While Trump is thought to have hired D.C. lawyer Joe DiGenova to replace Dowd, on Sunday he said he is “very happy” with his existing legal team.
