In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity aired late Thursday, President Trump described North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as “sharp as you can be” and said the two “get along really well.” “He’s a character. He’s a real personality. He’s very smart... And he’s a real leader,” Trump said. “He’s pretty mercurial—I don’t say that in a bad way, but he’s a pretty mercurial guy.” Despite having walked away from his second summit with Kim with no agreement, Trump said, “He likes me, I like him. Some people say I shouldn’t like him. Why shouldn’t I like him?” Trump told Hannity that North Korea only wanted to “denuke some” of their country while the U.S. wanted the whole country to be denuclearized. “We’ll get something worked out eventually,” he said. “We had a very good two days, but I just don’t think either of us were ready.”
