President Trump says he’s patched things up with his former political nemesis Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who’s facing a tough re-election run. “I like Ted… We’re very close,” Trump insisted. “To me, he’s not Lyin’ Ted anymore. He’s Beautiful Ted. I call him Texas Ted.” The president made the comments at the White House Monday afternoon, adding that they’ve both moved past the 2016 election. “We fought it out, the outcome was obvious, and we worked together very closely,” he said. Trump also called Cruz’s rival in the 2018 midterm elections, Democrat Beto O’Rourke, “highly overrated.” “What I heard about him I think he must be something special, he’s not. I think he got beaten badly in the debates,” he said.
