During yet another early-morning tweetstorm, President Trump appears to be denying at least part of the The Washington Post story that claimed he privately disparaged El Salvador, Haiti, and those in Africa as “shithole countries.” He wrote Friday, “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made—a big setback for DACA!” Initially on Thursday, the White House did not deny that Trump made the inflammatory remark. Spokesman Raj Shah said, “Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people.”
