President Donald Trump referred to some deported immigrants as “animals” on Wednesday afternoon, during a White House roundtable discussion on immigration policy. After a California official mentioned to Trump the existence of immigrants among MS-13 gang members, the president said: “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals and we’re taking them out of country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before, and because of the weak laws they come in fast... it’s crazy.” He continued on to lament that the United states has “the dumbest laws on immigration in the world.”
