‘EXCUSE ME’

“Sit down, please,” Trump said. “Sit down. I didn’t call you. I didn’t call you. I didn’t call you.”

April Ryan, the White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, sparred once again with President Trump on Wednesday when she tried to ask a follow-up question to a statement he made about voter suppression. “Sit down, please,” he said. “Sit down. I didn’t call you. I didn't call you. I didn’t call you. I’ll give you voter suppression: Take a look at the CNN polls, how inaccurate they were. That’s called voter suppression.”

When Trump tried to call on another reporter, and Ryan again asked about the controversial elections in Florida, Georgia, and North Dakota, Trump snapped: “I’m not, I’m not responding to—Excuse me. Excuse me, I’m not responding to you, I’m talking to this gentleman. Will you please sit down? Excuse me! Excuse me? Would you please sit down? Very hostile! It’s such a hostile media. It’s so sad. You rudely interrupted him. No. You rudely interrupted him.”

Ryan, minutes later, wrote on Twitter: “[Trump] heard my question about voter suppression... I stood up and asked and then he tells me to sit down. I went back up and said you did not answer my question on North Dakota, Georgia and Florida and he challenges me,” she tweeted. “This is just a continuation of their disdain for me. #underfire.” The spar occurred just minutes after Trump tangled with NBC’s Peter Alexander and CNN’s Jim Acosta in the bizarre and volatile press conference.
