Donald Trump’s sons are reportedly now in charge of assembling their father’s potential White House transition team—and intent on enlisting only the most steadfast sycophants. A source close to Don Jr. told Axios that his directive “is to keep the John Boltons of the world outside a second Trump administration.” The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think-tank, was originally making recommendations on how to steer a second Trump administration but has since taken a back seat. Axios reports that Trump became frustrated with the group after Democrats targeted its “Project 2025,” a plan to gut the federal government and replace civil servants with loyal Trump followers. The frustration could also stem from the president of the Heritage Foundation’s criticism of Trump’s dangerous dream to federally certify teachers. Last month, Don Jr. said he was making recommendations to his dad about possible running mates, saying he wanted to keep out the “D.C. swamp rats.”
