President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that the U.S. should cut off aid to the Palestinian Authority. “We pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect. They don’t even want to negotiate a long overdue peace treaty with Israel,” Trump wrote on Twitter. Claiming “the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace,” Trump asked, “why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?” Trump recently inflamed tensions in the region when he said the U.S. would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and would move the U.S. embassy there.
