President Trump threatened to close the U.S.-Mexico border on Friday if Mexico does not stop undocumented immigrants from coming into the United States. Trump made the threat in a tweet, claiming that Mexico has the strongest immigration laws in the world, and has profited off of the U.S. “If Mexico doesn’t immediately stop ALL illegal immigration coming into the United States through our Southern Border, I will be CLOSING ...the Border, or large sections of the Border, next week,” Trump said in a series of tweets. According to Department of Homeland Security data, attempted border crossings so far this year have reached levels not seen for around a decade

On Thursday, the president wrote: “Mexico is doing NOTHING to help stop the flow of illegal immigrants to our Country. They are all talk and no action,” Trump tweeted. “Likewise, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador have taken our money for years, and do Nothing. The Dems don’t care, such BAD laws. May close the Southern Border!”
