The Spanish government has revealed that Donald Trump suggested to them a familiar solution to keep migrants from coming into the country—building a huge wall across the Sahara Desert. Foreign Minister Josep Borrell claims Trump told him a wall in the desert would prevent asylum-seekers from Africa crossing into Europe. It’s not clear if Trump suggested a legal route for Spain to build a gargantuan wall on foreign soil. Spanish newspaper El Pais said the minister made it clear he had no intention of building a Saharan border wall. The comments are reported to have been made in June, when Borrell was part of the Spanish king and queen’s entourage during their visit to the White House.
