A fire on the 50th floor of Trump Tower left one man dead and six firefighters injured Saturday, the New York City Fire Department confirmed. Todd Brassner, 67, reportedly a resident of the building’s 50th floor, died at a hospital after being found unconscious amid the blaze. Officials have yet to determine what caused the fire, but this is the second one in 2018—the last occurred in January when a cooler tower went aflame. “Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job,” the president tweeted Saturday evening, shortly before news of Brassner’s death broke. “THANK YOU!” No one from the Trump family was inside the building during the fire, officials confirmed.
