Trump Will Meet Putin in Finland on July 16

President Trump will hold a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, this summer. The July 16 meeting will come just after Trump meets his NATO partners, who are nervous about Trump’s commitment to the agency that was set up to counter Russian aggression during the Cold War. He reportedly told Western leaders at a G7 meeting in Canada this month that “NATO is as bad as NAFTA.” In a further sign of where his loyalties lie, Trump reiterated Putin’s line on U.S. election interference during a morning Twitter storm less than an hour before the White House and the Kremlin confirmed that they would meet again.“Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!” he wrote.
