White House senior assistant press secretary Kelly Love is leaving her position for a job in the Department of Energy, the White House announced Thursday. Love, who fielded media inquiries related to legislative affairs, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Justice Department, is the latest aide to depart amid a reported shake-up of the president’s press team. Her last day will be Friday. Love “has been a valued member of the press team since day one of the administration. She will be promoted to the Department of Energy as principal deputy press secretary, allowing her to focus on issues she oversaw here at the White House,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday. CBS News reported earlier this week that Sanders has also spoken of leaving her position by the end of the year, along with principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah, though Sanders on Thursday said reports of her planned resignation were premature.
