The Trump Organization is launching a new line of mid-market hotels modeled after the down-market hotels the Trump team first encountered while on the presidential campaign trail, TheNew York Times reports. The line, called American Idea hotels, will reportedly seek to distinguish itself from competitors like Holiday Inn by placing American-themed paraphernalia such as old Coca-Cola machines in the lobby. Like a number of Trump properties, many hotels will not be built from scratch but will be purchased from existing hotel chains and rebranded. The Trump Organization plans to partner with a Mississippi hotel chain for its first series of American Idea hotels.
