Transportation Security Administration screeners found a record number of firearms in carry-on luggage in 2015. Of the 2,653 guns discovered, the agency says 83 percent were loaded. The total number was up 20 percent from 2014. In all, guns were discovered in carry-ons at a total of 236 airports; of those, the most weapons were found at Dallas/Fort Worth International, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, and Houston’s George H.W. Bush Intercontinental. The TSA said the uptick could be the result of both better search techniques and an increase in the number of travelers.
