In yet another old audio recording, Fox News host Tucker Carlson can be heard making disparagingly sexist remarks, this time about 2007 South Carolina Miss Teen contestant Caitlin Upton. In a Bubba the Love Sponge Show interview excerpted by the site NowThisNews, the conservative TV personality can be heard calling the teen contestant, who gave a fumbling, inarticulate answer to a pageant question—dumb and susceptible to a sexual approach. “She’s like, she’s vulnerable.” he said. “She’s like a wounded gazelle, separated from the herd.” He then went on to suggest that pageant host Mario Lopez must have had sex with the teen, who was described by the radio show's host as being 17. Tucker ended the interview musing that the teen would “probably be a pretty good wife.” “Don’t you think—I mean, if you had a wife that dumb would it be good or bad?” Carlson then carried on before making a final inappropriate comment. “I was thinking about tapping my foot next to her stall,” he said. Upton made comments to New York magazine in 2015, according to The Washington Post, about how the humiliation nearly made her suicidal.
