Two American tourists have recalled how they were attacked by a shark when they jumped into the ocean on a Bahamas vacation. Rileigh Decker, 20, and Summer Layman, 24, were swimming Friday in Bimini Bay, a popular resort town, when they were attacked on Friday, according to the Royal Bahamas Police. On Tuesday, Decker told NBC News' TODAY that the terrifying episode began not long after they jumped into the water. She said she “felt something nudge” her leg and returned to the boat’s ladder, where what they believed to be a bull shark pulled her leg down again. As loved ones helped Decker, they realized that Layman had also been bitten. Decker was airlifted to a hospital in the Bahamas for treatment, and then both women were later flown back to Florida so Decker could have surgery. “We’re just very grateful to still be here with all of our limbs,” Decker said.
