Two airline pilots flying in separate planes reported seeing an unidentified flying object over Arizona on the same day last month. In a radio broadcast of the Feb. 24 incident released by the Federal Aviation Administration, the confused Phoenix Air and American Airlines pilots can be heard asking air-traffic controllers about the mysterious object. “Was anybody above us that passed us like 30 seconds ago?” the Phoenix Air pilot asks. The FAA informed the pilot no other planes were in the area, and a short time later, American Airlines Flight 1095 called in to controllers to report “something” passing just over the plane. “I don’t know what it was, but it was at least 2,000-3,000 feet above us. Yeah, it passed right over the top of us,” that pilot said. The FAA says air-traffic controllers were “unable to verify that any other aircraft was in the area” at the time of the sighting. “We don’t have any comment beyond what you hear,” the agency said.
