The manifesto of the man known as the Unabomber is going up for auction on May 18. The manifesto, in which the terrorist and Harvard-trained mathematician Ted Kaczynski rails against technology and the Industrial Revolution, will be sold online along with 20,000 pages of written documents found in his Montana cabin, including Kaczynski's birth certificate, notes, checks, and academic transcripts. Proceeds from the auction will go to compensate Kaczynski's victims. "We will use the technology that Kaczynski railed against in his various manifestos to sell artifacts of his life," the U.S. Marshals Service said in a statement. Kaczynski, 69, is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty in 1998 to setting 16 explosions that killed three people and injured 23 others in various parts of the country.
