University President Apologizes for Drinking From Beer Bong at Tailgate

Southeast Missouri State University president Carlos Vargas-Aburto publicly apologized Tuesday for drinking from a beer bong at a university tailgate earlier this month. The Southeast Missourian reports that video of the incident was posted online and watched 130,000 times. “I was observed being offered and accepting to drink beer from a beer bong, a device normally associated with excessive or binge drinking, which is conduct I do not condone,” he wrote in a statement. “This serves to me as a reminder that I must always be mindful of my actions and behavior, and I can assure you this will not happen again.” The video, recorded on Snapchat and posted on Twitter, got 2,000 likes and 600 retweets.
