On Monday, President Obama announced that the U.S. will be adding to the list of people and firms targeted under Russian sanctions. He did not publicly disclose the details of the sanctions, but he said the new list would include Putin's pals. "The goal is not to go after Mr. Putin personally; the goal is to change his calculus, to encourage him to walk the walk, not just talk the talk," Obama said in Manila during his Asian tour. Obama said the U.S. was still refraining from sanctions specifically targeting sectors of the Russian economy that could damage the country as a whole in case the situation “escalates further.”
