Only a couple of days before the Winter Olympics kick off, Matthew Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center said there are multiple reasons to worry about security in Sochi. “There are a number of specific threats of varying degrees of credibility that we’re tracking,” he said. The biggest threat is from Imarat Kavkaz, a prominent terrorist group in Russia, with attempted attacks likely to come outside of the game venues but in the Sochi region.
