Freestyle skier David Wise defended his title as champion in Pyeongchang on Thursday, taking the gold in the Men’s Freestyle Skiing Halfpipe. Wise broke out a nearly flawless third run after crashing on the first two, earning a winning score of 97.20. The win gave the U.S. its third gold in halfpipe at the Winter Games. Fellow American Alex Ferreira scored a 96.40 to claim silver in the event. Wise, a four-time X-Games gold medalist, also claimed a gold at the Sochi Games in 2014.
