Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to offer the U.S.’s help in fighting Boko Haram at a meeting with newly inaugurated Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. “Something we can do quickly is to send advisers,” a senior State Department official told The New York Times. “It could be related to intelligence; it could be something very simple, related to things like logistics.” Buhari is Nigeria’s first elected president to unseat a sitting leader, and has promised to step up the country’s fight against the terror group.
