Vince Vaughn Tapped for ‘True Detective’

You’re so money, baby! Vince Vaughn will star alongside Colin Farrell in the second season of True Detective, HBO announced Tuesday. The much prized roles, rumored to have been attached to multiple A-list names, including Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, and Christian Bale, will see Vaughn as Frank Semyon, described by The Hollywood Reporter as a “career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.” Farrell will take on the role of Ray Velcoro, “a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.” While production on the award winning series will not begin later this fall, the female lead has yet to be announced, but could include Jessica Biel or Rosario Dawson.
