"John, basically, made it very clear that if he were an American he would vote for Reagan because he was really sour on Jimmy Carter,” says Seaman, who worked with Lennon from 1979 until his death at the end of 1980. He also says Lennon enjoyed arguing with left-wing radicals. An article last year in The American Spectator similarly argued that Lennon had a late-life conversation to conservatism—he even called evolution “absolute garbage.”
