Last Friday, police in Hemet, California, a city about 40 miles south east of Los Angeles, responded to a hit-and-run that resulted from a case of road rage. Witness video shows 53-year-old Tracy Leavitt in a three-way confrontation with two other drivers when one of them steal his car and runs him over with it at high speed.
We are still attempting to identify and locate the suspects from Friday's assault with a deadly weapon case. We are releasing the video of the incident in the hopes that someone might be able to identify the suspects. Viewer discretion is advised as the video contains graphic images.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to help with medical costs, Leavitt is the sole earner in a large family. He suffered a collapsed lung, broken bones, and requires knee and hip replacements. Local police confirmed the diagnosis.
“The most current info I have is that he’s in serious situation but stable, according to the hospital after his surgery,” Hemet Police lieutenant Dean Evans told the Daily Beast.

Leavitt’s assailants fled the scene and are as yet unidentified, though Evans hopes this changes soon. In this still from the witness’ account, you can see a heated argument underway, and one of the driver’s wielding a skateboard.
“We are still working on leads but we hope to have them identified shortly,” he noted, adding, “things are looking positive, but we don’t have them just yet.”
The Hemet police released the video on their Facebook page in hopes someone would recognize and identify the two men. Anyone with information is urged to reach out. Evans admitted that an attack of this magnitude was rare for the suburban area.
“I wouldn’t go as far as to say we have a quiet town,” he quipped. “But even for our town, this is extreme. We don’t have stuff like this happen all the time.”
