An Oprah-produced, Lee Daniels-directed biopic of Richard Pryor starring Mike Epps is currently in the works, but a screen test featuring Marlon Wayans—yes, White Chicks’ Marlon Wayans—as the troubled legendary comic has surfaced.
Despite being known primarily for comedy, Wayans is no stranger to dramatic acting. Back in 2000, he held his own alongside Oscar winners Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly in Requiem for a Dream. This 8-minute screen test, in which Wayans plays Pryor on and off-stage, shows that he’s got the chops to cop his own statue in the right role.
