The Boston-based watchdog group World Against Toys Causing Harm released its annual “top 10” list of “summer safety traps,” which includes the perennially popular Slip ‘N Slide, according to Mercury News. The list also includes water balloon slingshots, backyard pools, all-terrain vehicles, trampolines, and bounce houses. Explaining its stance against backyard water slides, the group writes that “adults and teenagers who dive onto slip and slides may hit and abruptly stop in such a way that could cause permanent spinal cord injury.” Last year, the group crusaded against fidget spinners, Mercury adds, noting that they “pose a choking hazard.”
