Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook broke Oscar Robertson’s record for single-season triple-doubles on Sunday night in a game against the Denver Nuggets that is sure to go down in history. Westbrook, the first NBA player to top Robertson’s record of 41 triple-doubles in 1961-1962, scored 50 points and gave the Thunder a three-point game-winning shot at the buzzer. Oklahoma beat Denver, 106-105. Westbrook got his 42nd triple-double with the help of rookie Semaj Christon in the fourth period, picking up his 10th assist after feeding the ball to Christon for a three-pointer. “Pure adrenaline, emotions running high, game-winning shot, it is something you dream about as a little kid to be able to do that on the road, especially from that distance,” Westbrook said after the game. “It is something you definitely will never forget.”
