White House Corrects Transcript That Edited Out Trump’s Insult to Female Reporter

The White House on Tuesday released a new official transcript of President Trump’s Monday press conference, editing the originally released version that attempted to alter the president’s rude comments to a female reporter. During the presser, Trump told ABC’s Cecilia Vega, “I know you’re not thinking, you never do,” after appearing to misunderstand her during a heated exchange. But as The Daily Beast previously reported, his remarks were recorded in the first official transcript as, “I know you’re not thanking…” The Tuesday copy of the transcript includes Trump’s actual words, which were captured on camera and widely ridiculed later in the day.
