The White House has found no corroboration of Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual-assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after examining the FBI report, The Wall Street Journal reports. White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah confirmed receipt of the completed report early Thursday and said the findings were now being “transmitted” to the Senate. Shah called the report the “most comprehensive review of a Supreme Court nominee in history” and said that “the White House is fully confident the Senate will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that he’d moved to hold a procedural vote Friday on Kavanaugh’s confirmation before the FBI’s report had even been sent out to senators for review. President Trump reiterated his praise for Kavanaugh late Wednesday, saying, “The country is with him all the way!”
