First lady Melania Trump stayed in Palm Beach while President Trump headed back to Washington, D.C., on Sunday. In announcing the news, White House Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters appeared to try to pre-empt speculation of a spat between the president and his wife, saying Melania’s stay in Florida “is their tradition for spring break.” The first lady also reportedly traveled separately from Trump on Friday when the couple headed to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. Trump was back at the White House late Sunday when the much-anticipated 60 Minutes interview aired with porn star Stormy Daniels, who divulged details on her alleged affair with the president. Trump has denied the affair and the first lady has remained mum on the allegations. But Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, is engaged in a legal battle with Daniels over her public comments on the alleged affair, which he says is a violation of a nondisclosure agreement she signed just before the 2016 presidential election.
