The buzz about Fox News putting the heat on GOP presidential candidates isn't just everyone looking for gossip, it's part of the network's strategy for 2012, writes Gabriel Sherman at New York's Daily Intel. "This chaotic and raucous primary season is demonstrating that Roger Ailes will put the interests of his network ahead of all else ... Like any good candidate, the network plans to tack toward the center for the general election." The main reason? Fox is terrified that CNN, though lagging in the ratings, will make a dramatic comeback during the election as viewers go for what they see as a centrist brand.
