What started as a small Facebook event page, created on the night Donald Trump was elected president, has burgeoned into a massive movement. The Woman’s March on Washington is taking place this Saturday, January 21st, with an estimated 200,000 marchers descending on DC from all over the country. The Women’s March website indicates that there will also be 616 “sister marches,” around the world.
We asked women from around the country why they march, and what they hope to accomplish. Here are their stories in their own words.
The Daily Beast would like to thank all the women who shared their stories.
