Allison Holker was preparing for the funeral of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the longtime Ellen DeGeneres producer and DJ who ended his own life in 2022, when she made a startling discovery. Holker found a “cornucopia” of various drugs—including mushrooms and pills—stashed inside a shoebox in his closet, she told People. The professional dancer said she made the discovery while she was looking for an outfit for Boss to be buried in. “It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed,” she told the outlet. “It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.” Holker told people that Boss’ journals hinted at internal turmoil related to childhood trauma—possibly sexual abuse. “He didn’t want other people to take on his pain,” she said, while encouraging anyone suffering in silence to seek support. Boss was a fixture of the Ellen DeGeneres Show from 2014 to 2022. He died at 40, leaving behind Holker and their three children.
