Neil Wallis - a former tabloid editor now under arrest as part of the UK inquiry into phone hacking - has an interesting piece on HuffPo saying that British newspapers will decide whether to publish the Harry pics based on what they think Lord Leveson - chair of the public inquiry into press standards and behaviour will make of them.
Up to a point, Lord Copper. There is also the small matter of the press code which all the newspapers are signed up to, which states: "It is unacceptable to photograph individuals in private places without their consent. Note - Private places are public or private property where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy."
Hotel rooms are private places. Publishing the pics would be a direct contravention of the code.
Buckingham Palace has been quick to remind news organisations of this fact.
