At least 10 people have died in wildfires in California's wine country, officials announced Monday evening. Seven of those deaths occurred in Sonoma county, one of eight counties in which California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency on Monday. At least 100 people have been injured, with most of them receiving treatment for smoke inhalation. Napa County Board of Supervisors chairwoman Belia Ramos said tremendous wind gusts have made the fires unpredictable. Survivors said the fires approached so quickly, they had little time to flee their homes. At least 1,500 homes have been destroyed so far.
